Bus Registration for Riders 1.5 Miles or More

    This document contains important information about how to access school bus services for the Manchester Essex Regional School District (MERSD) in the 2023-2024 school year.

    Registration Is Required for All Riders
    Each bus rider, regardless of distance to their school, must register to ride the bus in order to receive a bus pass.

    If you have one or more children who lives 1.5 miles or more from school, these children will not have to pay to ride, but will still need to register to reserve a seat on the bus. If you do not wish to have your child ride, you do not need to register, and no further action is necessary.

    How Do I Register?
    Register online HERE. Please note that this site may only be used to register students riding 1.5 miles or more.

    If your family also has other children who ride less than 1.5 miles to a different school, you will receive a separate notification with instructions on how to register those riders (using a different registration website) and pay the $225.00 annual per student fee, which is required for students riding less than 1.5 miles in accordance with School Committee policy.

    When Will I Receive a Bus Pass?
    Bus passes will be distributed at school during the first two weeks of the new school year. After that time, only students with a bus pass will be allowed to ride.

    What is the Deadline for Registration?
    To reserve a seat on the bus, your registration must be received by August 30th, 2023. Registrants that reside more than 1.5 miles from school are guaranteed service, but for all others, passes will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  

     

    Will Bus Routes Change in the Coming Year?

    Routes for the new school year are expected to be similar to the 2022-2023 school year, and will be published prior to the start of school.
