Transportation Fee for Riders Less 1.5 Miles

  • Transportation Fee for 2023-2024 School Year

    This site contains important information about how to access school bus services for the 2023-2024 school year. In accordance with the fee schedule established by the School Committee of the Manchester Essex Regional School District (MERSD), all riders who live less than 1.5 miles from school must pay a $225.00 transportation fee.

    Registration Is Required for All Riders
    Each bus rider, regardless of distance to their school, must register to ride the bus in order to receive a bus pass.

    If you have one or more children who lives less than 1.5 miles from school, each of these children will have to pay $225 to ride. If you do not wish to have your child ride, you do not need to register, and no further action is necessary.

    How Do I Register?
    Register online at: https://unipaygold.unibank.com/TransactionInfo.aspx?transid=14942. Payment options include direct debit from your bank account ($0.50 bank fee) or credit card payment (sliding scale bank fee of 3-4%).

    If your family also has other children who ride more than 1.5 miles to a different school, you will receive a separate notification with instructions on how to register those riders, free of charge, using a different registration website.

    When Will I Receive a Bus Pass?
    Bus passes will be distributed at school during the first two weeks of the new school year. After that time, only students with a bus pass will be allowed to ride.

    What is the Deadline for Registration?
    To reserve a seat on the bus, your registration must be received by August 30th, 2023. Registrants that reside less than 1.5 miles from school are not guaranteed service, with passes offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  

    Will Bus Routes Change in the Coming Year?

    Routes for the new school year are expected to be similar to the 2022-2023 school year, and will be published prior to the start of school.
