Meet Our New Staff!

  • Welcome Manchester Essex High School

     Jordan Edgett – Athletic Director:  Mr. Edgett is a graduate of Bowdoin College where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Visual Arts.  In 2017, Mr. Edgett earned his Master of Education in Athletic Administration from Endicott College.  Mr. Edgett joins MERHS after serving at the Assistant Athletic Director at St. John’s Prep in Danvers.

     Kelsey Klibansky – Art Teacher:  Ms. Klibansky joins MERHS as an Art Teacher and the Director of Debate.  Ms. Klibansky received her Bachelor of Science degree in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Law & Public Policy from Northeastern University.  Ms. Klibansky recently earned her Master of Art in Teaching Art Education from Salem State University.  Ms. Klibansky has worked as a commissioned artist. 

     Craig Macarelli – Academic and Behavioral Dean of Students:  Mr. Macarelli joins us after serving at the Director of Therapeutic Programs for Peabody Public Schools.  Mr. Macarelli began his teaching career at the elementary school level where is served as a teacher and assistant principal.  Mr. Macarelli earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where he also earned his Master of Education.  In 2017 Mr. Macarelli earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Leadership from American International College.

     Kayla Nice – Special Education TeacherKayla comes to MERHS from Andover High School where she held a position as a Special Education Teacher.  Kayla has a Master of Education Degree in Special Education from Merrimack College.

     Angie Rice – English:  Ms. Rice joins us full time after serving as a long-term substitute teacher in English during the 2018 – 2019 school year.  She is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a major in English.  She received her Master of Arts in Teaching from Salem State University.  Ms. Rice has worked in the Ipswich and Amesbury school districts.  She also has served as an adjunct lecturer at Northern Essex Community College.

     Amanda Rumble – Guidance:  During the 2018 – 2019 school year Ms. Rumble served as a Guidance Intern at MERHS.  During the 2019 – 2020 school year she will join us as a Guidance Counselor.  Ms. Rumble is a graduate of Endicott College earning a degree in Psychology.  She recently earned her Master of Education in School Counseling from Salem State University.

     Stephen Sablack – Athletic Trainer:  Stephen comes to us from Auburn Public Schools where he served as the athletic trainer.  Steven holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from Salisbury State University and a Master of Science Degree in Athletic Training. 

     Matthew Tangney:  Mr. Tangney joins us after working at Marblehead High School in the capacity of Digital Learning Specialist and History Teacher.  Mr. Tangney is a graduate of Colby College where he earned his BA in History and Spanish.  He also has several graduate degrees including a Master of Education, a Master of Arts in History and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership. 


     Manchester Essex Middle School

     Jean Tarricone:  Jean is joining Manchester-Essex as our new Special Education Team Chair for the middle/high school.  She has 18 years of experience in the field of Moderate Special Needs, as both a teacher and department head at the secondary level. Her most recent experience includes 5 years with the Andover Public Schools as a Program Head and eight years with the Hamilton-Wenham Regional Public Schools as their Special Education Secondary Coordinator. Jean holds a CAGS from American International College, a Master of Education in Special Education from Boston College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bates College.

    Janice (Jan) Gauthier: Jan is joining the Manchester-Essex Regional Middle School as a Special Education Liaison. Her primary area of focus will be assisting students with English Language Arts. Jan has spent the last 10 years working in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District as a Special Education and English teacher. She was also the Extended School Year Coordinator for two years while at Hamilton-Wenham. Jean holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Salem State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Boston College.

    Ben IcenogleBen is joining the Manchester-Essex Regional Middle School as our new Chorus and General Music Teacher. Most recently, Ben worked at the New School of Music in Cambridge, MA as a 
    Ukulele Instructor. Before that, he worked for one year with the Hamilton-Wenham Regional Public Schools as their Interim Chorus Director. Ben holds a Master of Education in Music from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory/History from the University of Rochester.

    Yvonne RobbinsYvonne has been with the Manchester-Essex Regional School District since 2012. She has worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Memorial Elementary School and the Director of Debate for the high school. This year, Yvonne joins the middle school as a Special Education Liaison in our program servicing students with severe special needs (SWING). Prior to joining Manchester-Essex, Yvonne worked for the Gloucester Public Schools for one year as a Teaching Assistant. Yvonne holds a Master of Teaching from Salem State University, and a Master of Education, BCBA, from Endicott College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian Language and Literature from Dickinson College.

    Tina Doherty: Tina has worked for MERSD for the past 15 years as a part-time art teacher at the Essex Elementary School. This year, she joins the middle school as their full-time art teacher. Prior to joining MERSD, Tina worked for the Swampscott Public School District. Tina received her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Salem State University.


    Essex Elementary School

    Samantha Marino is excited to join the MERSD team as the EES Speech and Language teacher.  She will also support the district preschool at Memorial School.  Samantha graduated from Elmira College with a degree in Speech and Language Disabilities.  She received her Master’s in Communication Science and Disorders from UNH. Samantha has worked as an SLP at North Shore Children’s Therapies, Beverly Hospital, Mouthworks, and the Beverly School for the Deaf. 

    Jenni Fusco will be joining our SWING team as a TA.  She has worked as an ABA therapist in Danvers and as a special education paraprofessional in Gloucester.  Welcome to Jenni.

    Hannah Quinn will also be joining our amazing SWING team as a TA.  She recently graduated from the University of Maine with a BA in Education. 

    Lori Baker will be joining the EES reading team as a part-time TA this year.  Lori holds a BS in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and has recently worked as a substitute teacher at EES. 

    Amy Gabriel will be joining the special education staff at EES.  Amy holds a degree in elementary education and special education and a Masters in reading from Gordon College.  Most recently she worked as a reading specialist and special education teacher at North Andover Middle School.  She has worked as a literacy specialist and a 4th-grade teacher as well. 

    Casey Comiskey and Charlene Foss will be working to keep our children safe as recess monitors this school year.

    Claudette Yutkins, the art teacher at Memorial School will be joining us in a part-time capacity. 


    Memorial Elementary School

    Debra Patuto - Special Education Liaison: Deb graduated from Lesley University in 2002 with a Master’s degree in Education that included dual certification in Elementary and Special Education. In 1999, she received her BS in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Throughout her career in education, Deb has worked as both a general education classroom teacher as well as a special education teacher. Deb is an associate-level practitioner with the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators and has worked at MES as a Special Education Reading Tutor. We welcome Deb into her new role as a Special Education Liaison.

    Olivia Esoldi -  Special Education Teacher:  Olivia from Endicott College with a Master's degree in Special Education in 2019 for Moderate Disabilities. In 2018, I also earned my BA from Endicott in English with a minor in Education. Over the last 5 years, I have completed numerous internships and student teaching placements in various educational settings.  I just recently finished my year-long fellowship at Memorial Elementary in the SAIL program, and look forward to returning to Memorial this year to continue my teaching career!

    Kelly Lestage – IRWL Program Reading Specialist: Kelly has worked in the district for the past four years in the capacity of Moderate Special Needs Liaison and Reading Tutor at Essex Elementary. She previously worked at Memorial School from 2015-17, as an OG Reading Tutor in IRWL, and is thrilled to be returning to join the IRWL staff full time! Kelly graduated from Gordon College in 2015 with an Educational Specialist in Reading Degree. She is passionate about helping struggling readers gain confidence and attain their learning goals. Prior to coming to MERSD, Kelly received a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Salem State (2002) and taught many years in preschool and primary school settings as a classroom teacher. She is excited about the year to come!
