Dear Manchester Essex School District Representatives,
Attached to this email is the Lead and Copper Analysis Report for the drinking water samples collected on 10/4/2016 as part of the MassDEP – UMass Assistance Program for Lead in School Drinking Water for:
- Manchester Memorial Elementary School
Note that certain sample results exceed the Action Level for lead in the school’s drinking water at several locations. For information on the next steps you should take as a result of this exceedance, please refer to the Follow-up Steps Fact Sheet for Schools that was reviewed during the recent informational meeting. To view the Follow-up Steps Fact Sheet for Schools and for more information on lead in drinking water please see: http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/massdep/water/drinking/testing-assistance-for-lead-in-school-drinking-water.html
Also attached to this email is the Lead and Copper Analysis Report for the drinking water samples collected on 10/4/2016 as part of the MassDEP – UMass Assistance Program for Lead in School Drinking Water for:

We are pleased to report that none of the sample results for the school exceeded the Action Levels for lead or copper in the school’s drinking water. Also attached is a template letter you may wish to use to share these results with parents and staff.
You should review the results for both schools and also report any remedial actions taken through the online Lead & Copper Reporting Tool located at https://script.google.com/macros/s/AKfycbxP99K-Cd5B3ioE7nswn0peOEndcGrXwVk6zJcS5iHxzGO55B1k/exec. Instructions for using the Reporting Tool can be found on the MassDEP website at http://www.mass.gov/eea/docs/dep/water/drinking/lcca-reporting-tool-guide.pdf. If your school’s lead and copper sampling results are not available through the Reporting Tool within 72 hours of receiving this email please contact the MassDEP Drinking Water Program via email at Program.Director-DWP@state.ma.us (Subject: LCCA Reporting Tool – Sampling Results).
It is important that you share this information and your follow-up remedial actions with your school community and other interested stakeholders. PLEASE NOTE: MassDEP plans to post these sample results on our public web site two weeks from the date of this email.
If you have any questions regarding these results or the follow-up remedial actions, please contact Margaret Finn at 617-292-5746 or Andrew Durham at 617-574-6855.
