Manchester Essex Regional School District Policy on
Criminal Offender Record Information

It is the policy of the Manchester Essex Regional School Committee that prior to beginning service to the District, “Criminal Offender Record Information” (CORI) reviews will be completed on all employees, appointees and contractors and their employees where said individuals may have unsupervised direct contact with children.

Each employee or potential employee is required to complete and sign the release form approved by the Criminal History Systems Board authorizing the Superintendent to access the criminal offender record information. The District reserves the right to request an updated CORI review at any time during the tenure of an existing employee, appointee, contractor, or their employees.

Criminal offender record information will be kept confidential and available only to the School Committee, Superintendent and Principals as necessary and in keeping with M.G.L. Ch. 71 Sec. 38R. The information will be accessed and utilized as required by M.G. L. Ch. 6 Sec. 167 to Sec. 178 inclusive.
